How do I permanently remove the bar?
If you want to permanently remove the bar, turn an empty dryer to the hot or cotton setting and run the dryer for a few minutes to soften the adhesive backing. Make sure you wait a few minutes before opening the door – the dryer could still be hot! Then use a spatula to pry the bar cradle loose. Wipe away any remaining residue gently with a towel. If you simply want to replace the bar, check out the “How do I replace the bar?” question.

Removing the Bar
Now let’s just say that your great Aunt is in town and that she’s staying with you for about a month. And she’s a purist. She prefers to not have any Bounce freshness, not even the Bounce Free bar. Well, that’s cool because we know the bar is easy to remove. Even if it’s just for her loads or if you want to go bar-free for a bit.
So you want to head over to your dryer.
Whoa … wow! I’ve just been Bounced!
You just pinch down one of the sides of the cradle – these things right here – and just slide the bar out the longways. Then tada! You are ready for a bar-free load and one happy great aunt.
Now of course all good things must come to an end. After a few months* the Bounce bar is practically gone but, through the power of technology you will start to see the word ‘replace.’ Kind of like this one right here.
And that is a secret message that means, “replace.”
So, all you have to is slide the bar out the longways. Then just slide in a refill that you can get at most retailers. The refill looks basically like a new bar, but without all of that other stuff you don’t need.
And that’s it! You’re back in freshness.
*Depends of size of bar, frequency of use, and dryer settings.
